Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa charges that the government is attempting to bring an end to the moratorium granted for those in the industrial sector for loans and interest premiums from the 30th of June.

MP Premadasa said the industrial sector could suffer serious setbacks.

Speaking at an event today, MP Premadasa said the moratorium should be continued to ensure the industrial sectors survival and charged that the government has to date failed to reach a decision in this regard.

He urged the government to consider the matter in a humane manner.

The Opposition Leader charged that solutions are yet to be provided for the gas, fuel, and milk powder shortages adding that the tourism industry, small and medium scale businesses, and the export industry have collapsed.

MP Premadasa added the government is engaged in efforts to deceive the public under the guise of introducing constitutional amendments.

He charged that a political gamble is underway in the country.
