State Minister Susil Premajayantha says the standards of the 2021 Advanced Level Examination will not be reduced, in the event the examination is postponed beyond November.
Speaking in Parliament today, the State Minister said a survey is being carried out at present to determine the coverage of the syllabus thus far with the school closures owing to the coronavirus.
The State Minister responding to a question raised by Parliamentarian Hesha Withanage said a determination is being made as to how far the syllabus has been covered before schools were closed, adding that exam standards cannot be dropped especially owing to university entrance.
The State Minister said time will be provided to cover the syllabus and ensure students don’t face any injustice.
He noted that the Secretary of the Ministry of Education will issue a statement in this regard.
