Minister of Energy Kanchana Wijesekera says a heavy fuel oil cargo and another petrol cargo arrived in the island yesterday.
The Minister said the fuel will be discharged once the quality sampling is completed.
He noted that the heavy fuel oil will be used for power generation and industries.
Minister Wijesekera added fuel is currently being pumped according to the last digit of the number plate while fuel quotas have been enforced as well.
The Energy Minister said the National Fuel Pass QR method is currently being trialled till the 24th while registrations for the pass also continues.
