The Sri Lanka Transport Board says 741 Sisu Sariya school buses will be deployed across the country from today, to transport children to schools.
The first term for Sinhala and Tamil medium schools for the year 2022 will commence today.
Speaking to NewsRadio, SLTB Deputy General Manager Panduka Swarnahansa said school children who are facing difficulties to use private vans can use Sisu Sariya school buses.
Meanwhile, the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association says private bus operations will return to normalcy from today with the reopening of schools for the new term.
Speaking to NewsRadio, Chairman Gemunu Wijeratne said that private buses were operating normally during the past few days as diesel was available for private buses without any issues.
