The Sri Lanka Private Fuel Bowser Owners Association says with the arrival of a diesel shipment yesterday the distribution of diesel commenced across the island.
Co-Secretary of the Association Shantha Silva speaking at a media briefing today said diesel is currently being distributed to filling stations.
Silva said 70-75% of diesel has been supplied across the island.
He noted that 300-400 bowsers are generally dispatched to filling stations adding that today around 250-300 bowsers were dispatched.
Silva said all bowsers will be dispatched when fuel stocks are received.
He added a drop in the supply of petrol to filling stations however was witnessed yesterday with the supply at less than 10%.
