The Sri Lanka Transport Board says 200 additional buses have been deployed today for the convenience of the public traveling from Colombo to outstation areas for the forthcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Speaking to NewsRadio, the Deputy General Manager of the SLTB Panduka Swarnahansa said the 200 buses will be in service in addition to the daily timetable.

Swarnahansa noted a further 200 buses are scheduled to be deployed tomorrow.

He said a special bus schedule is in operation since 8th of April for the festive period adding they have provided services successfully to the people to reach their destinations without any delays.

The SLTB Deputy General Manager added they expect an influx of passengers tomorrow.

Swarnahansa stated that passengers will be able to receive services without any inconvenience and noted that buses will commence journey from the Colombo Central Bus Stand.
