An individual has drowned, while having a sea bath at Galle Face in beach area in front of the statue of SWRD Bandaranaike.
The victim drowned, after ignoring warnings of bystanders to refrain from swimming in the area.
Police are working to confirm the identity of the deceased 40 year old male.
Police said the body of the deceased has been placed at the morgue of the Colombo National Hospital.
