A Tunisian national has been arrested by the Sri Lanka Customs with a haul of cocaine valued at Rs.180 million.
NewsRadio airport correspondent said the 4.527kg of cocaine was concealed in the individuals hand luggage.
The 59-year-old Tunisian portrayed himself as a head of an international financial institution.
He was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport around 8:45 this morning at the arrival terminal.
The suspect had produced forged documents to the Customs.
He had travelled from Tunisia to Brazil and subsequently reached Sri Lanka from Doha, Qatar.
A Customs Narcotics Control Unit officer said this is the largest cocaine haul seized at the BIA to date.
