Another 33 persons arrested over the murder of a Sri Lankan factory manager in Sialkot, Pakistan recently, have been remanded.
The Sialkot Police today said 33 more primary suspects in relation to the murder were arrested and produced before the anti-terrorism court in Gujranwala.
The judge had then granted police a 17-day physical remand of the suspects.
The suspects will be produced before the court again on 3rd of January 2022. Previously court remanded 52 persons in relation to the incident.
A mob comprising hundreds of protesters, including the employees of the factory the Sri Lankan was the manager of, had tortured him to death on 3rd of December and later burnt his body.
The brutal killing drew widespread condemnation from political circles and human rights bodies.
A first information report was registered against 900 workers of the factory under several sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act.
