The JVP says the 2022 Budget will not bring about any positive outcome.
Chief Secretary of the JVP Tilvin Silva speaking at a media briefing said the price of fuel will increase following the Budget.
Silva said the present administration is facing a severe financial crisis with a shortage of funds, foreign exchange, and reserves with sources of income depleting.
He said therefore this would be a Budget that will take away from the public.
The Chief Secretary said this isn’t due to any numerical issues but due to continuously obtaining loans and embezzling and wasting funds.
Silva said due to these actions the country has to make large interest payments and repay loans.
He said the country’s agriculture sector, industrial sector, tea industry, and all other sources of income have collapsed resulting in the public being further burdened.
Silva urged the public not to have any expectations from the 2022 Budget.
