The 2022 Appropriation Draft Bill was presented in Parliament today.
Government expenditure for 2022 has been estimated at Rs.2,505.3 billion.
Rs.1,776 billion of it has been cited as recurring capital.
The Appropriation Bill contains details of expenditure heads for each Ministry.
The Cabinet of Ministers also approved the 2022 Appropriation Bill.
Sources said government expenditure is due to be reduced by around Rs.30 billion next year.
The 2022 Budget proposal is due to be presented in Parliament on the 12th of November.
Funds allocated for the President and the health sector will be reduced next year, while the highest allocation has been made for national security.
The second and third highest allocations will be made for the Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils & Local Government and the Ministry of Highways respectively.
The expenditure heads for the Ministry of Education have also been increased.
