The Department of Examinations says the transportation of question papers for the 2021 GCE Ordinary Level Examination will commence from today.

Commissioner General of Examinations LMD Dharmasena said the transportation is being carried out under Police protection.

The 2021 O/Level Exam will begin on Monday (23) and will be worked off until the 01st of June.

The Exams Department said 517,486 students are sitting the exam of which 407,129 students are school applicants.

Meanwhile, the Office of the Commissioner General of Essential Services said fuel will be released on a priority basis for vehicles of state officials engaged in O/Level exam duties.

Commissioner General KDS Ruwanchandra said the officers who have been deployed for examination duties will be able to visit the nearest filling station between 3 pm and 5 pm tomorrow (22) and obtain fuel by producing their appointment letter and National Identity Card.

Ruwanchandra said Managers at filling stations have been informed of the procedure by the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
