The Adams Peak pilgrimage season for the year 2021-2022 ends at midnight today.
Pilgrimages to Adams Peak will continue until midnight today, followed by special religious ceremonies at the Adams Peak courtyard tomorrow afternoon.
The Chief Sanganayaka of the Sabaragamuwa Province and the Chief Incumbent of Sri Pada, Most Ven. Bengamuwe Sri Dhammadinna Nayake Thera said the procession will reach the Galpoththawela Raja Maha Viharaya, Pelmadulla with the assistance of Sri Lanka Army troops.
Speaking during a meeting with state officials in Nallathanniya to inform of the end of the pilgrimage season, the Chief Incumbent said steps have been taken to provide maximum facilities to all pilgrims who arrived for the Sri Pada pilgrimage.
