Police have arrested a 19-year-old in Kuruwita for attempting to sell a stock of fake gold coins.
Police said 960 fake gold coins weighing 2kg were seized from the suspect’s possession during a raid yesterday.
The suspect was due to sell the stock of gold coins for Rs.6 million.
The suspect, a resident of Avissawella, will be produced before the Ratnapura Magistrate’s Court today.
