160 MW have been added to the national grid from the third generator of the Norochcholai Lakvijaya Power Plant, which was inactive for weeks.
Additional General Manager and Media Spokesperson of the Ceylon Electricity Board Andrew Nawamani said another 140 MW is due to be added to the national grid from the third generator.
A 300 MW generator at the Norochcholai power plant, which adds 900 MW to the national grid, had a sudden breakdown on the 3rd of December.
The Kelanitissa Diesel Power Plant was supplying the 300 MW of electricity which is usually provided to the national grid by the third generator of the Norochcholai power plant.
