At least 14 people have been killed in 13 motor accidents reported across the country in the past 24 hours.
Police said accidents have been reported from Giribawa, Ingiriya, Puwarasankulam, Anuradhapura, Borella, Padiyathalawa and Habarana.
Furthermore, fatal accidents were reported from Anamaduwa, Navakuruduwatta, Ratnapura, Angunakolapelessa, Kilinochchi and Welikada.
Police said the deceased were between the ages of 12 and 78 and that the majority of the victims were motorcyclists.
