State Minister Shehan Semasinghe says despite claims of the opposition, the government has achieved a 12.3 percent economic growth in the second quarter of the year.
State Minister Semasinghe said in comparison to economic growth of major nations including China, Sri Lanka is at a satisfactory level.
He also claimed that Sri Lanka’s exports have also increased by 20 percent in comparison to last year.
State Minister Shehan Semasinghe also noted that the government has been able to carry out a successful vaccination drive with 60 percent of the population fully inoculated against COVID-19.
He said while handling the economy they have managed to safeguard the lives of Sri Lanka’s amidst a global pandemic.
The State Minister claimed that the country has also been recognized by the international community for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
