The National Election Commission has decided to indefinitely postpone postal voting of the Local Government Election.

A spokesman of the Election Commission attributed the decision to funds not being released in order to print ballot papers for postal voting.

The Election Commission said postal voting is due to be held at 1,116 centres across the island.

Postal voting is due to be worked off on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of February.

The lack of funds to print ballot papers was reportedly discussed at today’s meeting between members of the Election Commission and political party representatives.
