The Litro Gas Company and the Consumer Affairs Authority today reassured the Court of Appeal that they will continue to deliver on their undertaking to provide consumers with quality gas cylinders.
Litro Gas made the statement when the writ petition filed by civil society activist Nagananda Kodituwakku seeking compensation for victims of the recent gas leak explosions was called back today through a motion.
Nagananda Kodituwakku before the Court of Appeal said gas companies and the CAA had failed to comply with the order issued by the Court as there were still at least two gas related explosions daily.
The Defense denied the allegation and stressed that the Court of Appeal’s order would remain in effect adding further action will be taken after a special discussion with experts scheduled to be held on the 3rd of January.
The petition was taken up before Justices Ruwan Fernando and Sampath Wijeratne and is scheduled to be taken up once again on the 26th of January.
