COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The United National Party and the Ceylon Workers’ Congress have agreed on an electoral pact to contest the Local Authorities Election.
Speaking during a media briefing at the UNP headquarters Sirikotha this morning, former Minister Navin Dissanayake said the UNP and the CWC will contest as an alliance in the Nuwara Eliya District.
He said the two parties will contest under the ‘elephant’ symbol in nine to 10 local government bodies while under the under the ‘fowl’ symbol in 11 to 12 Pradeshiya Sabha.
Former Minister Navin Dissanayake said the electoral pact will be beneficial for both parties.
