COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The book launch of the Factum Foreign Policy Review “A Vision for a new Sri Lanka” has taken place at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute in Colombo.
The author of the book Uditha Devapriya, presented a copy of the book to the President’s Senior Advisor on National Security and Presidential Chief of Staff, Sagala Ratnayaka.
Speaking at the occasion Director and Advisor of Factum Dr. Ranga Kalansooriya said that the genesis of this book’s research draws from nearly 25 in-depth interviews conducted by the author with a range of distinguished officials and personnel, including current members of the Diplomatic Service, retired foreign Secretaries, high-ranking officials from the armed forces and members of the administrative services and other officials.
The President’s Media Division said notably, all the researchers involved in this project were under the age of 30, demonstrating a commendable commitment to grassroots-level exploration of foreign policy that spanned all nine provinces of Sri Lanka.
The PMD added that the initiative is particularly aligned with President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s vision of positioning Sri Lanka as a Digital Friendly Country, echoing his thoughts on G77.
This book launch marks a significant milestone in the discourse surrounding Sri Lanka’s foreign policy, promising to shape the country’s strategic direction for the future.
Dignitaries in attendance at this momentous event included Acting Foreign Minister Tharaka Balasuriya, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, as well as former Ministers Sarath Amunugama, Ravi Karunanayake, Aboriginal leader Uruwarige Wannila Aththo and other officials.
