Laboratory Professionals support lockdown decision

The Government Medical Laboratory Professionals Association has commended the decision by the government to impose quarantine curfew.

The Government Medical Laboratory Professionals Association has commended the decision by the government to impose quarantine curfew.

President of the Association Ravi Kumudesh said if results are to be reaped, quarantine curfew should be imposed in a scientific manner.

Kumudesh said as a country all citizens must work together, adding that they as a union requested for a ten-day closure, owing to the current wave of the coronavirus.

He claimed the President and the Ministry of Health must work to ensure that 100,000 tests are carried out daily.

He said a programme is also lacking to identify COVID-19 patients according to three categories and to be treated accordingly.
