Underworld gang member Kanjipani Imran, remanded over threatening a Police officer, has been granted bail.
The order was issued by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (20).
He was released after meeting bail conditions.
Kanjipani Imran was first remanded on charges filed under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
However, the charge was removed by Police and Imran was charged under the Penal Code.
The attorney representing Imran informed Court that he can be granted bail based on the new charge.
Accordingly, Kanjipani Imran was released on a Rs.5 million surety bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
Upon completing the bail requirements Imran was released while his passport was impounded by authorities.
