The Kalutara District yesterday identified 548 coronavirus patients.
45% of yesterday’s cases were detected from the Western Province.
The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country rose to 324,223 following the detection of 2,794 patients yesterday.
The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said 369 cases were identified in Gampaha, 356 from Colombo, 224 from Kandy, 174 from Jaffna, 135 from Ampara, 129 from Ratnapura and 114 from Matale.
The Centre added 111 positive tests were identified from Galle, 107 from Badulla, 89 from Batticaloa, 86 from Puttalam, 63 from Kegalle, 60 from Monaragala, 56 from Matara, 35 from Kurunegala, 32 from Nuwara Eliya, 29 from Vavuniya, 22 from Trincomalee, 17 from Kilinochchi, 13 from Hambantota, 11 from Polonnaruwa, seven from Mullaitivu, three from Anuradhapura and two from Mannar.
Two individuals who arrived in the island from overseas recently also tested positive for the virus yesterday.
