More than 200 new COVID-19 cases each have been detected from the Kalutara, Colombo and Gampaha districts yesterday.
1,665 coronavirus cases were detected in Sri Lanka, yesterday, raising the number of confirmed infections to 298,181.
The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said accordingly 293 new COVID-19 cases from Kalutara, 273 from Colombo and 268 from Gampaha were detected yesterday.
Furthermore, 149 from Jaffna, 132 infections from Badulla, 76 Kandy, 67 from Ratnapura, 54 from Matale, 52 from Galle and 36 from Kegalle were also detected yesterday.
Among the cases detected yesterday, 33 each were from Trincomalee and Monaragala, 32 from Ampara, 29 from Kurunegala, 25 from Hambantota, 22 from Vavuniya, 15 from Nuwara Eliya, 14 each from Puttalam, Kilinochchi and Batticaloa while 10 COVID-19 cases from Matara, eight from Anuradhapura, two from Mullaitivu and one each from Mannar and Polonnaruwa were also confirmed.
12 persons who arrived from overseas recently also tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.
