The JVP is expected to meet President Ranil Wickremesinghe tomorrow to discuss the formation of an all-part government.
The party said they will make their stance on the matter known to the President.
Speaking at a media briefing today, Politburo member of the JVP Sunil Handunnetti said holding discussions pertaining to an all-party government is futile at a time that a government has already been established.
He said the party is yet to decide on the party members who will attend tomorrow’s talks.
He noted that the government that is being formed is not based on the need to pave way for an election for the public to elect their representatives.
Handunnetti said a majority in Parliament are disinterested in holding an election. He added the public is keen for an election as the current government has no public mandate.
