Leader of the JVP Anura Kumara Dissanayake says it is regrettable to see how two Sri Lankans are included in the world’s most high-profile financial misappropriation leak out of a global population of eight billion, despite the country having a mere 20 million population.
Speaking in Parliament today, MP Dissanayake stressed that the reason for Sri Lanka’s poverty and economic crisis is being uncovered through documents published by international media.
He recalled how the JVP continuously presented claims of financial misappropriation within the state sector.
The JVP Leader charged that Sri Lanka continues to suffer from poverty due to financial misappropriation.
In response to MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s statement, Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena commented that a stringent investigation regarding claims within the leaked documents will be conducted.
The Minister requested MP Dissanayake to present evidence before court over his claims pertaining to Pandora Papers, as a political faction.
Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena also recalled of the crimes and atrocities committed by the JVP during 1987/88 period.
He said the JVP is a party which was responsible for heinous crimes are continuously blaming other factions for political survival.
