The JVP claims the government has not curtailed any parliamentary privileges of Members of Parliament or other officials even at a time when the public is undergoing severe hardships.
Speaking during a rally in Matara, former JVP Parliamentarian Sunil Handunnetti claimed Ministers have not cut down on the number of official vehicles, security personnel, official residences, salaries or other benefits.
Handunnetti said they aim to capitalise on the public’s contempt over the present administration and the political system adding it can only be done through an election.
