A discussion was held today (22) between Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe and Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Hideaki Mizukoshi.
The talks focused on the reconciliation process and the proposed reforms and development work in the judicial sector.
The Ambassador stated that Japan remains committed to supporting Sri Lanka in knowledge sharing and in assisting technical reforms in the legal system.
The Minister meanwhile commended the support rendered by the Japanese government to overcome the economic crisis and also thanked Japan for its friendship throughout the years.
Minister Rajapakshe also thanked the Japanese government for supporting several projects including at the Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital.
The Minister detailing the role of the Justice Ministry in the reconciliation process, said the Office of Reparations, the Office of Missing Persons and the Office for National Reconciliation and Peace are working to improve reconciliation.
