Japan grants another USD 1 million to support low-income families

The Government of Japan has provided another USD 1 million humanitarian assistance to procure essential nutrition packs through Sri Lanka Red Cross Society for expectant and lactating mothers.

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Government of Japan has provided another USD 1 million humanitarian assistance to procure essential nutrition packs through Sri Lanka Red Cross Society for expectant and lactating mothers in Sri Lanka.

This is expected to reach a total of 76,000 people living in all provinces to support the nutritional needs of low-income families, develop their livelihood situations and assist them in managing their water, sanitation and hygiene issues, particularly the menstrual hygiene issues of female school children.

The Embassy of Japan in Colombo said, Ambassador Hideaki Mizukoshi attended a handover ceremony at the Kolonnawa Divisional Secretariat Office to provide nutrition packs to the local community procured by the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society of government officials.
