The government has decided to resume inter-provincial bus and train services from tomorrow.
State Minister Dilum Amunugama said operations will resume in compliance with health guidelines.
State Minister Amunugama noted that the inter-provincial public transport services will be in operation during morning and evening hours.
Speaking to media, State Minister Amunugama said buses and trains will resume operations on Monday to provide services to the public servants.
Yesterday, the government announced that all state sector employees will be re-called to duty as per usual in order to restore normalcy in the public service.
The Sri Lanka Transport Board has been instructed to transport passengers based on seating capacity while adhering to health guidelines.
Speaking to NewsRadio SLTB Chairman Kingsley Ranawaka said they will direct adequate buses to transport passengers. He revealed, buses will operate according to the usual timetables from Monday onwards.
Ranawaka assured that buses will be operational to meet the demand of commuters, adding buses dedicated for Expressway will also be operational.
