‘Inter provincial public transport continues from Sunday’

The Sri Lanka Transport Board says bus services that were halted due to inter provincial travel restrictions island wide, will resume operation as per usual from tomorrow.

The Sri Lanka Transport Board says bus services that were halted due to inter provincial travel restrictions island wide, will resume operation as per usual from tomorrow.

Speaking to NewsRadio SLTB Chairman Kingsley Ranawaka said they will direct adequate buses to transport passengers.

He revealed, buses will operate according to the usual timetables from Monday onwards. Ranawaka commented that transport for state sector employees to be covered since the government has recalled all state sector workers to offices beginning tomorrow.

He assured that buses will be operational for the satisfy demand of commuters, adding buses dedicated for Expressway will also be operational.

When inquired by NewsRadio General Manager of Railways Dhammika Jayasundara said trains will be operational from Monday onwards, to provide inter provincial transportation for essential workers.
