Paceman Dushmantha Chameera says injuries to some key players has had a bearing on the preparation and performance of the Sri Lanka team which is taking on India in a three-match Twenty20 International series.
Sri Lanka yesterday lost to India by 38 runs in the 1st T20 and handed a 1-0 series lead.
Speaking to media after the game, Chameera said at least three batters sustained injuries during the on-going series which has depleted the strength of the team.
He said since the team is confined within a bio-secure bubble, replacements cannot be called immediately.
Dushmantha Chameera said however batters have shown improvement lately especially during the recently concluded ODI series.
He also said that Sri Lanka’s bowling attack has been performing well during the past several series.
Paceman Dushmantha Chameera said the team is hoping to address the shortcomings and perform better during the next two games against India.
The second T20 between Sri Lanka and India will be played at the R Premadasa stadium in Colombo tomorrow.
