An individual has been arrested for allegedly attempting to commit murder using two petrol bombs at a place of worship in Bambalapitiya.
The 35-year-old individual has been subsequently remanded until the 23rd of November by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Shalani Perera.
NewsRadio court correspondent said the individual had brought two petrol bombs this morning and one of the bombs had exploded at the entrance.
He had reportedly taken the other bomb to the kitchen of the place of worship. However, area residents who were suspicious of his actions had detained and then handed him to the Bambalapitiya Police Station.
Police said no one was hurt in the incident.
