COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera says he has requested the assistance of the World Bank to conduct a full assessment on the impact the electricity hike has had on the poor and vulnerable groups in the country.
A presentation on the findings on the impact the electricity tariffs increase has had on the public was presented this morning.
The presentation was made by the World Bank Team on Poverty and Equity Global Practice.
Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said subsequently he requested World Bank’s assistance to conduct a full assessment of the tariff structure and the impact it will have on poor and vulnerable groups.
