The third suspect linked to the human trafficking racket to Oman who was arrested this morning has been granted bail.
The order was issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
The suspect was released on two surety bail of Rs.300,000 each.
Police said the female was arrested after surrendering to the Criminal Investigation Department in Colombo this morning (21).
The resident of Dambulla is a representative of a foreign employment agency.
Meanwhile, yesterday, the individual referred to as the local agent of the individuals operating the human trafficking racket was remanded till the 1st of December.
The 45-year-old resident of Puwakpitiya, Avissawella was arrested on Saturday (19) and produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate and was subsequently remanded.
The individual was arrested based on complaints lodged by women who returned to the country from overseas recently.
Meanwhile, the chief suspect of the racket was arrested by the Immigration Office at the Bandaranaike International Airport and and subsequently remanded till the 24th of November.
The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau said the suspect was arrested on Friday night (18) upon arriving in Sri Lanka from Dubai.
The suspect, a 40-year-old resident of Wattala, is suspected to have engaged in human trafficking by running an office in Maradana.
