Illankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi Parliamentarian Shanakiyan Rasamanickam has questioned the government as to how political stability could be ensured within a country where the threat of explosions still prevail.
Therefore, the MP requested the government to ensure national security and political stability in order to attract foreign investments.
Speaking in Parliament, MP Rasamanickam said factors such as quality of life, political stability and national security were prime factors sought by foreign investors despite incentives offered by the country’s government.
He claimed that despite tax concessions offered to the construction industry to build apartments, such companies will eventually recoup the money invested in the project and leave the country.
MP Rasamanickam said instead the government should focus on creating employment opportunities and provide concessions to industries that will generate more jobs.
He also requested government MPs not to spread false news of concession packages given to the public since the Finance Minister will face many issues when compiling the budget in order to satisfy all stakeholders.
