Sri Lanka yesterday recorded the highest number of COVID-19 deaths in a single day.
The Government Information Department said 111 COVID-19 deaths were confirmed yesterday, increasing the death toll to 5,222.
56 males and 55 females were among the victims.
The Department said 21 individuals were identified between 30 and 59 years of age while 90 persons who succumbed were 60 years and above.
