Highest COVID cases from Gampaha District

The Gampaha district yesterday recorded 438 new coronavirus cases.

The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in Sri Lanka rose to 293,113 following the detection of 1,815 patients, yesterday.

364 new patients were detected from Colombo, 138 from Ratnapura, 119 from Kalutara, 85 from Galle and Ampara.

The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak said 83 positive cases were identified in Kegalle, 69 from Kandy, 57 from Jaffna, 56 from Badulla, 50 from Matara, 47 from Polonnaruwa, 42 from Matale, 29 from Batticaloa, 26 from Kurunegala, 21 from Anuradhapura, 16 from Nuwara Eliya, 14 from Hambantota, 13 from Puttalam and Vavuniya, 11 from Monaragala, five from Trincomalee, three from Kilinochchi and a single case from Mullaitivu.

The group also included 30 persons who arrived in the island from overseas.
