COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Department of Meteorology predicts very heavy showers of above 150mm in some places in the Kalutara district.

The Met Department said heavy showers of above 100mm are also likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in the Galle and Matara districts.

It added the showery condition is expected to continue over the south-western part of the island.

Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
