Trade unions in the health sector say a decision will be reached this morning regarding the ongoing 48-hour token strike.
Speaking to NewsRadio Convenor of the Academy of Health Professionals Ravi Kumudesh said the decision will be reached during the special executive committee meeting due to be held at 10am today.
Kumudesh claimed the Ministry of Health had failed to respond to the token strike owing to an interest to obtain commissions by directing health services to the private sector.
He noted the Health Ministry had failed to resolve their concerns as the token strike is due to end on a set date.
Kumudesh said however the Secretary to the Ministry of Health convened a special discussion last evening to discuss several matters.
He added during today’s discussion a decision will be reached pertaining to further steps to be taken regarding the strike action.
