COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The multi-day fishing trawler with the haul of over 200 kg of heroin and crystal methamphetamine or ICE, seized in Southern seas on Friday has been brought to the Colombo Harbour.
13 suspects apprehended during the raid have also been brought to Colombo with the seized narcotics.
The Police Narcotics Bureau said officials are currently assessing the value of the seized narcotics.
The Sri Lanka Navy in coordination with the Police Narcotics Bureau and the State Intelligence Service seized the large consignment of heroin and crystal methamphetamine on Friday (16).
Two local fishing trawlers were also seized.
The Navy also arrested a group of local suspects in connection to the racket that was busted on Wednesday (14).
The apprehension was made by SLNS Samudura, after a lengthy surveillance operation at high seas off the southern coast.
