Parliamentarian Harin Fernando has been questioned by the Criminal Investigation Department for five hours in relation to the 2019 Easter Sunday Attacks.
MP Fernando was summoned before the CID at 10 this morning.
MP Harin Fernando was summoned before the CID previously as well, to record a statement over views expressed in Parliament in April this year pertaining to the Easter attacks.
The MP also filed a Fundamental Rights petition before the Supreme Court calling for an interim order preventing his possible arrest.
Speaking to media after recording a statement with the CID, MP Fernando said he was questioned by the CID based on a statement his late father made pertaining to a possible attack.
The Parliamentarian said he was cleared of any wrongdoing pertaining to the matter by a Presidential Commission of Inquiry.
MP Harin Fernando said despite being cleared, he has been summoned to the CID.
He said he is not aware whether he will be questioned once again or will authorities arrest him over a possible traffic violation.
Parliamentarian Harin Fernando added that Minister of Public Security Sarath Weerasekera had made baseless claims pertaining to him in Parliament.
MP Fernando said he is prepared to have a public debate with Minister Weerasekera and respond to his claims.
