The United Nations Resident Representative Hanaa Singer-Hamdy today (23) called on Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles.
The two parties discussed the public protests that were held recently and Singer-Hamdy commended the actions of the Sri Lanka Police.
The UN representative also commended the democratic political background in the country.
Furthermore, she also stated that the UN will support all efforts taken by Sri Lanka to eradicate the spread of dangerous drugs.
Hanaa Singer-Hamdy also pledged the complete support of non-governmental organisations in the country’s future endeavours.
