State Minister Susil Premajayantha says the government would not have faced the current situation if it had only dealt with a group of individuals who were aware of the relevant subjects during the formation of the government.
Speaking in Kandy today, State Minister Premajayantha said it is evident that the government is run by individuals who possess no knowledge on their particular subject.
Responding to a question raised by media over many members of the government being on foreign tours at a time of economic crisis in the country, the State Minister said those who are on foreign tours must be in possession of dollars as no one can spend rupees in other countries.
He said these individuals may have ways of sourcing foreign currencies even though the country is unable to source funds to purchase essential items including milk powder, gas, fuel, and medicines.
State Minister Premajayantha said he cannot comment further on the matter as it may be personal wealth adding these facts should have been considered when forming the government.
The State Minister said he held the portfolio of Minister of Education for five years during the conflict, adding he was able to discharge his duties without any issues
