The Government Medical Laboratory Professionals Association says it opposes the decision of the Secretary to the Ministry of Health to assign the conduct of Rapid Antigen Tests of expatriates to several private laboratories.
Speaking to NewsRadio, Chairman of the Association, Ravi Kumudesh said it is a waste of public funds.
Kumudesh said it is evident that the Health Ministry continues to shamelessly reassign its responsibilities to outside parties.
He said there are 16 laboratories conducting PCR tests that operate with charitable donations.
