Govt offices to resume normal operations from Monday

A directive has been issued to summon all state sector employees back to work from the 2nd of August.

A directive has been issued to summon all state sector employees back to work from the 2nd of August.

The directive has been issued by Secretary to the President PB Jayasundara to the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils & Local Government, JJ Rathnasiri.

Accordingly, instructions have been issued to resume normal operations at government offices while adhering to COVID-19 health regulations.

The President’s Media Division said Secretary to the President PB Jayasundara has also directed to annul the circular issued instructing heads of institutions to summon only a limited number of staff considering the prevailing COVID-19 situation and permitting others to work from home.

According to the PMD, a high percentage of all eligible population across the country has been vaccinated against COVID-19.

The government has said since a majority of state employees has also been vaccinated, priority should be given to resume state services at full capacity.
