Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Hector Appuhamy says investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks must be carried out in a prompt and stringent manner.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, MP Appuhamy said the government must not suppress civil society activists.
The Parliamentarian charged the present administration of destabilising all sectors.
He said the government created issues in relation to the Department of National Zoological Gardens, Lanka Sathosa, fertiliser, the compensation process for the farming community over damaged crops, and gas, fuel, electricity, rice, vegetables, and milk powder.
The MP said the government is under the impression that the public has forgotten the Easter attacks.
He said the public will willingly step forward and assist investigation in order to identify the mastermind.
Commenting on the Report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter Sunday attacks, MP Appuhamy said they are sceptical over investigations due to 22 chapters of the report not being published.
He said only the former Attorney General and Attorney General’s Department are aware of its content.
He said the former Attorney General after reading the content of the report revealed that there was a conspiracy behind the Easter attacks.
The MP urged the government to reveal details of the alleged conspiracy.
