The National People’s Power says all protests can be brought to an end if the government announces a clear stance on salary anomalies of teachers and the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Bill.

Former JVP Parliamentarian Nalinda Jayatissa speaking at a media briefing today said firstly the government must withdraw the KDU bill and agree to not table it in future either.

The MP said secondly, the government must ensure teachers will stop the strike action by promising to resolve salary anomalies.

He noted blaming people is futile if the government cannot promise teachers what they are due and provide stringent solutions to their concerns.

The former MP claimed issues will not be solved at this rate.
