Director of Social Communications of the National Catholic Center Revd. Father Cyril Gamini Fernando says the government lacks any real interest in bringing to book the perpetrators of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.

Speaking at a media briefing today Revd. Fernando said it is questionable as to why the government is attempting to cover up facts cited in the report by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry that probed the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.

He appealed for transparency in investigations and stated it is the government’s responsibly to fulfil their duty by revealing the truth.

Revd. Fernando questioned why the investigations and uncovering of the truth is being prolonged by the government.
